Backyard

One of the fun things about being a home owner is getting to outfit your land with gardens, flowers, and various outdoor furnishings. Trevor happened to leave for a few days, and when he came back, this is what he found!

The Joy of Burning Wood

This year we were given a woodshed for Christmas, so as soon as the snow melted, Trevor started to put it together. I say "started", because what is supposed to be a multi-person project of only a few hours turns into a multi-day project pretty quickly when you are working on it by yourself. I did help a bit, when he really needed an extra hand.

Laying the ground work

Making sure we have all the parts

The usual... incomprehensible directions

No project is truly complete within out a few war wounds.

The framework is up!

And done!

It's huge in here!

3 Weeks of Easter (cont.)

As Easter Sunday approached, we still had no plans. Although I was perfectly content to go out and have a nice Easter Brunch, just the two of us, I was still happy to receive a last minute invitation to Trevor's parent's house in Bemidji. We were even able to work it out to pick up the kids on our way there, so they got to come and see their cousins.

Frog catching!

We also got the opportunity to start working on our wood supply for next winter. Trev's parents had given us a very nice woodshed, so we want to get busy filling it up with wood so the wood will dry as much as possible.

This pile has to go into the van and trailer! Good luck to us!

It's true that "many hands make light work". Thanks for all the help!

The kids got 4-wheeler rides from Nana (Grandma Tobin) while we did all the hard work! Isn't that the way it always goes!

'Twas a bit muddy

Trevor's parent's house is very interesting. They built it themselves many years ago, and over time it has collected many odd knicknacks. I like wandering around their yard and looking at the various sculptures, furniture, and other items scattered about.

A happy temperature-gauging dwarf.

We were  there all day Saturday, so we had a lunch of Mac n' Cheese, Pizza, Chili, and Pretzels. Some people decided to mix all of these food items together.

Some people are very creative.

The food caused me to turn into a zombie.

After lunch it was family picture time!

Kathy, Hillary, Adam and I proceeded to play a game of Scrabble, whilst Trevor went for a walk to see the sights. His parent's live on a tree farm, so they have many acres full of trees in various stages of life.

The warehouse. Notice we didn't make a very
big dent in the pile of wood.

It was a beautiful weekend and we were so glad they invited us to come up and enjoy it!
